Dear all,

On 12th July the Greater flamingo colony of the Ebre delta (Punta de la
Banya salines)was ringed. The operation was succesfull and we catched and
banded 400 of 1107 chicks of the creche. This year we had the maximum of
breeding pairs, with 3139 couples, and chicks. This year the breeding colony
was located in the "classical" site of Tora dels Conills (last year flamingo
breeds in a dyke of salines). In the banding operation, more than 200 people
(volunteers, ricefarmers organisations, NGOs, ornithologists,
